I ran HVAC and ductwork crews for years, and the week I dreaded on every job wasn't the install — it was the paperwork after. The same code lookups, the same JSON-by-eye reformatting, the same fields my inspector was always going to pull. Before this existed, my best PMs lost whole Saturdays to writing up work they'd already done well. I built Trussmark because the people doing the work shouldn't lose their week to paperwork that the work already proves.
The problem
Paperwork is a byproduct of doing the job right.
Great field crews do the same five things every day: they show up, they read the drawings, they install to code, they photograph what they built, and they write it up so the inspector can verify it. For most specialty trade firms the last step is the most expensive. The same forms, the same code lookups, the same JSON-by-eye reformatting — paid for in billable hours that never make it onto a bid.
We started Trussmark because the people doing the work shouldn't lose their week to paperwork that the work already proves. If the install is correct, the paperwork should fall out of it — not the other way around.
Today
Photo + voice note in. Inspection-ready HVAC report out.
The first product is narrow on purpose. One trade, the paperwork that trade actually files, and the building department it actually files with. We earn the right to broaden it by getting this part right.
Capture
On the job, the PM shoots the install and drops a voice note — the same evidence they already collect. Trussmark reads the photo and the note, not a retrofit form.
Draft
An inspection-ready HVAC report comes back, coded article by article: IMC 504.6, IMC 306.1, the ones your inspector actually pulls. The PM reviews, the inspector signs.
File
Jurisdiction-aware paperwork — amendments, submittal sets, fee sheets — generated for the building department the permit is going into, not a generic template.
What we don't do matters as much as what we do. We're not a project management suite, not a CRM, not a takeoff tool. The decision on site belongs to the PM; Trussmark handles the ten hours of formatting that surrounds it.

We onboard one trade, one jurisdiction, and one project at a time. Drop your work email and we'll reach out when a slot opens near you — and tell you which jurisdiction we're covering next.
